I’ve built a successful business, but not because I poured into my local rural community. I’ve been successful despite that.
Because while I’ve done everything I can to invest locally, the reality is… it’s still an uphill battle.
Any of my successes happened because I also poured into areas that already had the infrastructure. The access. The support. The opportunities that somehow keep skipping over rural places like mine. And, the little support that is there is tapped out.. overworked..covering every base. Exhausted.
It shouldn’t be that way..but it is.
And yet… I’ll keep showing up. I’ll keep building. I’ll keep doing what doesn’t always make sense on paper (trust me, my accountant would back me up on that one)..because I believe in this region. I believe in the people here. And I believe we deserve better.
Access to capital. Reliable infrastructure. Real opportunity.
These shouldn’t be luxuries..they should be standard.
And until they are, I’ll keep fighting for them.
